Course Description

Be introduced to the world of coffee through this government-funded course and learn to see coffee in a different light. Pick up skills to help you become a smarter consumer of coffee and be equipped with fundamental skills in coffee-making!

Course Outline (24 hours)

  • Overview of coffee and coffee species
  • Understanding the agricultural process of coffee
  • Experiential learning on appropriate coffee grind size and different popular brewing methods
  • Fundamental technique on proper espresso extraction and milk frothing
  • Fundamental pouring technique for milk-based espresso beverages
  • Knowledge on commonly-served beverages and basic coffee-selling skills
  • Equipment knowledge, safety and maintenance

  • Course fee includes all training materials and ingredients
  • An SSG Statement of Attainment (SOA) certificate will be issued if all minimum assessment requirements are met
